Miracle of the Lord's Prayer |
Description
The Lord's Prayer is the most recognized prayer in the Western world. We learned it as children and can repeat it by rote. But what does it really mean? Since it was originally spoken by Jesus in the Aramaic language and directed to listeners with a Middle Eastern cultural heritage, how can we in the Western world today hope to get a feeling for what Jesus actually said or meant?
We will study what the original Aramaic words mean and see different translations and interpretations of the prayer; a fascinating Study in itself. We will then study the metaphysical/spiritual aspects of how using the Lord's Prayer as part of an ongoing spiritual practice can lead us to real and lasting changes in our soul and our life.
