The Temple of the Living God offers a variety of classes each month. Current and continuing classes and their descriptions are listed below. In the left column, the classes are listed by the day of the week and by the date they start.

A Course in Miracles

Description
A course in Miracles consists of three books: a 622-page Text, a 478-page Workbook for Students, and an 88-page Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depend on their particular needs and preferences.

The Workbook includes 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. It is not necessary, however, to do the lessons at that tempo, and one might want to remain with a particularly appealing lesson for more than one day. The instructions urge only that not more than one lesson a day should be attempted. The class provides a opportunity for group discussion of the week's lessons.

The Spiritual Study of the Tarot - Part 2
Description
This study of The Tarot is unlike any study that you have done on this unique system. In order to understand its spiritual meaning, this course will include information on the Kabalah, Numerology and Astrology. There will be an exploration of the Kabalistic Tree of Life and the Tarot cards and why they are placed in their specific positions on The Tree. The Kabalah and the Tarot both show man’s involution/evolutionary spiritual process.

Part 2 picks up where we left off in July. This second study will begin with a review of the first seven Major Arcana cards and the Minor Arcana 1-10.

If you did not take the previous course, taught in July, please plan to attend the first class. We will have a review of all that we learned in July.

This class is based on the book “ The Spiritual Study of the Tarot.” As the class unfolds, we will study the spiritual meaning of each of the Major Arcana cards 8 - 22. A focus on the 22 spiritual exercises will help to open your consciousness to a higher level. We will make an attunement to the Masters associated with each card. The classes will end with a meditation on each of the cards. There will also be time to share readings with each other.

You will need a deck of the Rider Waite Tarot and a copy of the book The Spiritual Study of The Tarot, by Louise Fimlaid. These are available in the Temple’s bookstore.

Louise projects the cards onto a movie screen as a visual aid, which helps in the understanding of each card. Louise Fimlaid, p.m.a.f.a. is a professional member of the American Federation of Astrologers and NCGR. She is an Astrologer, Metaphysical teacher and Author with over 30 years of experience. She is the author of “Timetable of Life and The Spiritual Study of the Tarot” which includes the Kabalah, Numerology, and Astrology as well as many courses available on cassette tape.

Description
Perhaps you have taken some of the “New Age” classes offered in the area and have wondered to yourself: Where did it all come from? When did it all begin?

As King Solomon said thousands of years ago, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Therefore, even though it is called ‘New Age,’ it is actually ‘Ancient Wisdom.’

This series of 6 classes is intended to answer these questions regarding the origin and history of New Age/Ancient Wisdom teachings. We will look at both the history of these teachings and at their recent re-introduction in the form of Esoteric Thought and Metaphysical studies.

Included also in the first 2 weeks will be an introduction to some of the leading founding fathers and mothers of the New Thought Movement, going back to the 19th century. It is the ground work they laid and the knowledge they passed down to us through the different schools of thought they introduced which form the foundation of much that we encounter today.

The remaining weeks will be devoted to the book ‘Ponder on This’ by Alice Bailey and the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul. This classic text is a collation of information of their works written in a more accessible and understandble format. It is available in our Miracles Bookstore.
